This policy explains what information RepairSathi ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, why we collect it and what choices you have. By booking a service or applying as a partner you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
When you book a service
- Your name, mobile number and (optionally) an alternate number.
- Your address, landmark and pincode, so a technician can reach you.
- The services you choose, your preferred date and time slot, and any notes you add.
With each booking we also store the IP address and browser type it was sent from. We use these only to prevent spam and misuse of the booking form.
When you apply as a partner technician
- Your name, mobile number, email (optional), years of experience, the services you offer and the areas you work in.
- The password you choose. It is stored in encrypted (hashed) form — nobody at RepairSathi can read it.
- A profile photo, if you add one.
- If you choose to add it, a copy of your Aadhaar card (photos or the e-Aadhaar PDF), with your consent. We use it only to check your identity before approving you. It is stored privately, seen only by the RepairSathi team, and never shown to customers or shared. A masked Aadhaar (only the last 4 digits visible) is enough.
How we use your information
- To call or WhatsApp you to confirm, schedule and follow up on your booking.
- To assign your job to a technician and give them what they need to do it.
- To keep a record of the work done, for support, warranty and accounts.
- To review partner applications and send jobs to approved partners.
- To keep the website secure and to understand how it is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
- The technician assigned to your job. Before accepting, they see only your name, area and the job details. Your phone number and address are shared only after they accept the job.
- Service providers who run the website for us — hosting, database, image storage and email — and who process the data only on our behalf.
- Google, if analytics or spam protection is switched on (see below).
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
- Your cart is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it isn't lost when you reload the page. It is not sent to us until you book.
- Partner and staff log-ins use a secure session cookie. Customers don't need to log in.
- If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and measure which pages and buttons are used. If spam protection is enabled, Google reCAPTCHA may check how the booking form is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; booking still works.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as we need them to provide the service, handle warranty and support, and meet legal and accounting requirements. After that we delete them or remove the details that identify you. Partner accounts are kept while you work with us; ask us any time to close yours. Aadhaar copies are deleted once they are no longer needed to verify you, or earlier when you ask us.
Security
Data travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to the admin and partner areas is protected by passwords, and technicians only see the jobs assigned to them. Partner ID copies are kept in encrypted private storage with no public link — only a logged-in RepairSathi admin can open them. No method of storing data is completely secure, but we work to protect yours.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (unless we must keep it by law), and you can withdraw your consent at any time — these rights also apply under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children
The website is meant for adults booking services for their home. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
